my new favorite weasley

Adorable british singer songwriter King Krule, or Archy Marshall / Zoo Kid, does an awesome song with an ode to The Streets at the end. I haven't heard much else from this kid except for a few singles here and there but definitely something I'll be looking for next time I go to the record shop.

cloud aura

a surprisingly awesome collaboration between two unexpected female mc's. I haven't really listened to much Charlie XCX, aside from the internet remix I posted a while back. I'm definitely not a fan of Brooke Candy, but this release is awesome. keep it up ladies.

MEN IN BURKA - war/magic

really awesome free download from Men In Burka. Don't know much about them but definitely worth a listen if you're into darker ambient music.

Fall 2012

music to be thankful for. i don't support the history of the holiday, but the celebration is right. stay true, and keep honest ones close. smoke to it. oh and tell your friends. go download this shit before it gets taken down.

fuck the beef. I just want these two to make music again. even if did rocky sold out he still knows how to produce. SGP stay true.

Video collages usually lack a plot that follows along with the story of the song. Ivan Grbin lacks that quality. They do a perfect job of making sense out of Crystal Castle's fucked up music.

I Met You

file this under: if tumblr was a music video. despite that, it's catchy she's cute and i like it.

Soooo many details.

i'll admit it, i'm a huge fanboy for Chaz. But I have yet to be disappointed by any of his releases.

Lupe Fiasco - Bitch Bad from Gil Green on Vimeo.

This is an awesome video. I haven't heard anything from Lupe recently but if this is the content and sound of his new music I'm in.

chew it up and swallow

every time around this year I try and look back and reflect on stuff. the past 365 specifically. there's a couple songs that really help me do that. this is definitely one of those songs, and brand new was definitely one of those bands. I'm happy and only grow and learn to be happier. life is weird and hard, but I love living it. i love the people around, and am happy to have spent the time that i have with them. "Now some saint got the job of writing down my sins... The storm is coming, the storm is coming in"

club king

something about this crew of people makes hanging out and recording yourself dancing while throwing some video effects over it seem really fun. i'd party with lady tragik.

i was thinking...

click the link to download the song. i'm gonna start uploading more tracks consistently.

you're not alone

saw these two with SBTRKT at the Egyptian a few months back. her voice is just as good live as it is recorded, not a lot of artists can say the same.

wait, what the fuck?

nu-neon anime warrior ravers forever

Grimes' music is interesting, but her new video is awesome. Definitely some anime influenced outfits, or something you might see at a junglist rave. Either way, super awesome.

Crypts is the product of a couple of amazingly talented individuals all based out of Seattle. I got a chance to see These Arms are Snakes live once when I was still in high school and that was an awesome show. Have yet to see these guys play but have been anticipating a release from them for a while.

epic collaboration

This Is False Mixtape

This tape has been floating around the blogosphere for a good while now so you may have heard about it, but if you haven't definitely check it out.

I'm a huge fan of WEDIDIT collective so when they first released this album I downloaded it not knowing anything about Jonwayne. I still don't know anything about him except that he's got a flow that I can vibe with.

The first track to really grab my attention was Play Deader (ft. Zeroh), and after that another track featuring Zeroh titled Sun Kids. These two contrast each other perfectly with a mellow, but challenging vocal line from Jonwayne countered by a laid back line from Zeroh. All of the features fit perfectly, and of course the solo tracks are great too.

The album as a whole is great and it's got me waiting on another release from Jonwayne.

Check out more from Jonwayne, and WEDIDIT as a whole here.

get the album here.

number 9

interesting track off of "Black is Beautiful" mixtape from Dean Blunt / Inga Copeland. Starts out real slow, second half it gets real good.

The Vera Project 04/28/2012

Last night the Vera project was turned into a bass-heavy dance floor for an acid fueled drum circle escapee. Really though, last night was great. A lot of young kids with a lot to say. The performances were all great. I'd only heard of half of the names on the list and I was really unsure what to expect.

Key Nyata

This dude killed it. Sometimes you worry about people not living up to their recordings just because of the content (pitch fixing, sound quality) but Key Nyata did not fail to deliver. In fact, he came the fuck through. This kid is only going to excel if he keeps it up. If you ever have a chance to see him live, take it. And keep an eye out for the all the klan heads.

Kung Foo Grip
I've seen this name around town a lot, and I've met the dudes on a couple of different occasions although I'd never heard them up until last night. I was blown away though. There was one track that had me a little confused at first, it was so slow and spacey it didn't seem like I was at a hip hop show. Then the bass dropped and I was ripped back to reality as the crowd erupted being propelled by the music. It was fucking perfect. These guys are definitely an act to keep an eye on.

Check out their newest release Indigo Children here.

Oh and a shout out to Codebreakers. Their performance was solid. I got a chance to talk to Dat New Ager 90 about his view on some up and coming musicians and how he felt about artists these days and what he was saying only had me more interested in what these guys are doing.

This dude was cool, but was hard to get close to. (he keeps a close posse) His performance was good, although I didn't know it was just one person. His recorded tracks are on point, but I'd like to see him again.

You are listening to....

This project is amazing!!! Choose a city. Listen to a live stream of police radio waves over songs pulled off Soundcloud + others. It's really intense though like the first time you heard m83.

star slinger

Take some Memphis trap, a little dubstep, mix it up with dreamy beats and occasionally throw in some vocals from Lil B and you've got Star Slinger.

Star Slinger is one of my favorite producers / djs right now. I've been listening non stop to different remixes he's released FOR FREE via his Soundcloud and a little to his solo work. I've been hooked off two especially

1. His remix of Arizona native Rollerskaters (or the young friends if you prefer)

2. and his out-there totally unexpected remix of ASAP Rocky

Check out his work, and if you like buy some of his albums. At the least keep an eye out for this guy. He's been around a while but if he keeps up the great work hes sure to get noticed in this crazy period for the game.

This is the cover to Kid Cudi's latest single. LOL. The song isn't bad, you be the judge.

you're a king you're entitled to your paradise.

I just wanted to say thank you to all the people who actually check this, I know it's all personal friends but it's really cool to sign on and see I have like 20 - 30 more views on my page than last time. Makes posting more worth while.

So, in honor, a clip from my favorite movie:
